Meet Shari, Founder of Natural Food Finder

I built the first iteration of Natural Food Finder in six days.

Not because I’m a developer or a tech genius. I’m actually self-described as tech challenged. I built it because I was frustrated. Frustrated that finding genuinely natural food near me meant hours of searching through Google results, outdated lists and businesses that turned out to be anything but natural when you actually showed up.

I’m Shari Ware and real food matters to me. Not as a trend or a diet, but as a non-negotiable part of how I live. Finding it wherever I happen to be is something I’ve had to work hard at.

So I built the directory I always wished existed.

Natural Food Finder launched in March 2026 with 152 listings across every Australian state and territory. I used AI tools to help me build it, but every listing has been personally reviewed, every category decision made with intention, and every piece of the directory built around one principle: community trust is the product.

Listings cannot be bought. Businesses cannot verify themselves. Every listing either earns a Staff Verified badge through a personal visit from me, or a Community Verified badge when three genuine community members have been there and left a review.

NFF is deliberately built to champion the small and independent. The farm gate down the road, the family-run health food store, the market stallholder who’s been growing spray-free for twenty years without ever needing to advertise. The big guys don’t need a directory. The small ones do. And the people who seek out real food deserve to find them.

I’m currently travelling Australia, documenting real food finds along the way and growing Natural Food Finder one verified listing at a time.

Natural Food Finder listings are submitted by our team and community members, personally reviewed before going live, and verified by real people who’ve actually been there.

Listing Criteria

To be listed on Natural Food Finder, a business must primarily sell one or more of the following:

🌿 Certified or chemical-free fresh produce

🌿 Spray free, organic or biodynamic fruit and vegetables

🌿 Grass fed, free range or ethically raised meat and poultry

🌿 Raw or minimally processed dairy

🌿 Bulk wholefoods, organic pantry staples or fermented foods

🌿 Natural, low-tox home and body products

Businesses must have a physical location or a verified online presence serving the Australian market.

A business cannot buy their way onto Natural Food Finder. Listings are approved based on criteria only — not payment. Businesses also cannot verify themselves. Verification is done either by our team or by three genuine community members who have visited.

How do I add a listing? Click “Add a Listing” in the menu, create a free account and submit your listing for review. We’ll approve it within a few days.

What do the tags mean? Listings showing a Staff-Verified tag have been personally visited and confirmed by our team. Listings showing a Community-Verified tag have been confirmed by 3+ community members. Listings without a tag are awaiting verification — help us by leaving a review if you’ve visited!

How do I verify a listing? Simply visit the listing page and leave a review. Three genuine community reviews earns a listing our community-verified badge.

Is Natural Food Finder only for Australia? Right now yes — but we’re going global soon! US, UK, New Zealand and beyond are coming.
