Yumbah Forty Two Degrees

Yumbah Forty Two Degrees is the cafe and retail space at Yumbah Aquaculture’s Dunalley site on the Arthur Highway. Their own sign reads: every oyster is grown right here, nurtured with care from spawning to harvest, and shucked fresh on site. They are part of Australia’s first Best Aquaculture Practices certified oyster business, a third-party audited standard run by the Global Seafood Alliance covering environmental responsibility, social accountability, food safety and animal health and welfare; Yumbah also holds ASC certification. Alongside oysters they sell canned abalone, ready-to-eat mussels and frozen kingfish. It is a cafe and shop rather than a licensed venue – their own invitation to customers is to bring down a beverage. Hours vary with the catch and they sometimes close once sold out, so call ahead.
